Frequently Asked Questions

Who are you?

Backyard Bandwidth is owned by Penetrum LLC.

This project started as a joke over whiskey and cigars—"We should start a data center." After years in cybersecurity, malware research, software engineering, and systems engineering, we knew the industry was full of overpriced, overcomplicated solutions. So, we built something better. By repurposing garages, abandoned buildings, and offices, we created a cost-effective, secure, and scalable infrastructure. With 24/7 monitoring and armed security, we provide enterprise-grade solutions at a price that actually makes sense.

Is Backyard Bandwidth reliable?

Absolutely! We offer a 99.99% uptime guarantee backed by 2Gbps fiber internet, armed security, and 24/7 security camera monitoring. Plus, we're WISP certified—our reliability is trusted even by the IRS!

What kind of support do you offer?

We provide limited free email support for all our services. Under our Fair Use Policy, each customer receives three (3) free support tickets per month. If additional support is needed beyond this limit, extra charges may apply based on our Support Charges.

Tell me about the VPS?

Our VPS services are created on demand, meaning no VPS is provisioned until the first month's payment is received. The only detail we log is the VPS name. Once the VPS is terminated, all related logs and information are permanently deleted. We do not, and will never, retain access to any data, ensuring complete privacy and security. For more information on our logging policy please see our No Logs Policy.

Tell me about the VPN?

Our VPN services are designed with your privacy and security in mind. We do not log or track your activity, ensuring complete anonymity. Connections are encrypted end-to-end to protect your data from any potential breaches. All logs are redirected to /dev/null. Your privacy is our priority. For more information on our logging policy please see our No Logs Policy.

Do you accept cryptocurrency?

Yes, we accept all cryptocurrencies supported by Coinbase and Coinbase Wallet . Please note that cryptocurrency payments must cover a minimum of 4 months of service in advance and require multi-month increments. Additionally, a 3% price adjustment applies to payments made using cryptocurrency. We are not able to refund any purchases made using cryptocurrency.

What is your logging policy?

We enforce a strict no-logging policy, ensuring that no user activity, connection logs, or identifying information is ever recorded or stored—now or in the future. For full details, please refer to our No Logs Policy.
